a little afternoon tea...

just found this photo I took a week ago on a Sunday walk by the Brisbane River at South Bank. We spied this lovely little Cupcake & Tea Shop, so I chose a pot of  Lavender and Earl Grey Tea to go with my Berry delicious cupcake...actually it had a much better name which I've forgotten now. I do prefer my tea in a pretty fine china tea cup ... but we really just loved those little cakes!

I know! Luckily they were small cakes or it would have been even more frightfully decadent. That layer between the pink berry cream is actually meringue!

thank you for your comment on my blog! I am glad you liked it!

Glad you support that kind of food too :)

I love this picture and I want to go there NOW!

But I do agree, tea taste best from fine china. :)

Thanks for the lovely response Renee. I forgot to say I saw most of the last week of Master Chef...way beyond my usual TV watching quota. I was going for Poh...and am happy she got the offer to go to LA and try her hand at food styling!
I found a very engaging read on your blog...your letter to Sydney. Brilliant! Be vocal. Somehow Sydney-siders seem so busy driving in that dreadful traffic to get everywhere, paying too much for real estate and so on...that community spirit can suufer or fall short...cost of living is high...various factors make it tough on anyone young and/or trying to emerge as a creative, if you're not loaded it can be a tough old place...
I also happened to find Melbourne more receptive and likely to get behind someone giving something creative a go! No gorgeous ocean baths, less cheerful weather...but more cups of tea and chats in people's homes...that helps to weave things together! And fridges more likely to have food in them! And good food! from markets and such!
ciao,
Sophie
ps Brisbane's a whole other story...i'm liking the spirit here!
