Preparing to say goodbye to a much loved home!

Although Ive only been here 5 years its been the much loved family home for 25 years! Preparations are in full swing now for the first Open Day tomorrow having been listed with Place where you can read more if you wish.

Place Estate Agents , 65 Reeve Street Clayfield 4011

If you know anyone looking for a home in Brisbane of course do let them know!

I've painted in a number of the rooms of this house... especially the back verandah and converted studio space. Years ago when living in a cold climate I came here for a few months when designing bedlinen (freelance) and worked on this verandah... utterly captivated by the sun, verdant garden and atmosphere this older style home offers one.

Of course my artistic clutter has been packed away for now... a little more to do in the studio today and all will be ready for tomorrow afternoon.

We all hope it will be loved by new people as much as it has been cherished by us!

Sophie! You must be moving on to wonderful adventures and following your dreams to leave such a sweet place. It's a beautiful home and I have no doubt you'll find a gentle soul to take good care of it through the years. Good luck at open house, congratulations on new adventures!! xoxo

Sometimes it always feels even more HOME when you are preparing to let it go. But yes, hope it will make someone else v. happy and sure that you all will go on to make a new place very homey and happy. It's a very sweet place to have nice memories of.

How lovely to receive all your warm comments... sending thanks Valerianna, Janis, Mary-Helen, Leesa, MP and Caterina!

Up with the birds this morning to pull my studio together.. the last frontier in getting ready.
A list of places to go see today after all is fine here... we're not going far from here... but criteria/needs have changed and the time was right.

It's only been a couple of days on the market but good interest. After 3pm Opening today ... and the follow up over a few days we will perhaps know more.

What a charming home...the veranda is a beauty. I hope it sells quickly and thereby allow all to move on. Lots of memories you carry away!

Thank you lovely MaryAnne and Carole!
Saturday 5pm and relaxing for the first time in days after Open house at 3pm.
Your kind wishes are genuinely appreciated... I do hope you are having a lovely weekend... probably sound asleep as I write.
Its curious how spruced up everything becomes for this very focused reason. One feels like moving out so as not to upset the exhibit.

Oh Sophie I'm in love with that verandah! Someone is going to fall in love with your home and love it just as much as you have.

Seems to be one of those archetypally alluring things Robyn ... the verandah is where my mother likes to sew, take her cups of tea, and on occasions I've painted there it's been amazing watching the day pass from there.
Is it wasn't such popular shared spaced I might have been inclined to annex the verandah!.
Thanks Robyn!

Looks perfect, good luck, Sophie! We will be doing the same thing soon as well. One always hopes someone else will love your home as you have done. It is especially hard to let go of a family home like yours with so many memories. Best wishes for a happy outcome.
