Before and After

Now you see it...

Now you don't!

I wrote all about this at the studio archives blog: here!

It was a huge week. In the middle of it we officially put our house on the market... so now I am madly trying to work out how to condense the household goods down and get ready for open house and such.

Forced to update my mobile last week I am learning how to use an iPhone at the moment and so here are two Instagram images...

I made cookies for my Aries brother's birthday tonight... chic chip and roasted peanut cookies in a mix that included coconut oil and coconut sugar. I'm told they passed the taste test! Hadn't done any baking for a looong time!

Studio verandah last week when deciding what seed pods to keep. Many had started turning to dust. Felt like I'd been there for a hundred years!

Off to do some gardening at at friend's community garden in the morning...then back to do more packing!

Hope you are having a lovely Easter if you celebrate that particular festival. A good weekend to all!

Hi Sophie, that must have taken a bit of work to pack up your studio. I'm your first instagram follower too! S:)

One things for sure .. its wonderful to wake up extra early today to find visitors leaving messages.

Mary Helen,
you are so kind... thankyou for the lovely wishes and may your home also be blessed this Easter. Appreciate your way of seeing... its good to keep perspective when things can on the surface seem unsettled. This kind of change makes you reconsider everything and prioritise thats for sure.

My sister and her husband stayed last night before getting a 4 am flight to LA for a 5 week sojourn in the States. So wold love to be jumping on that plane and visiting your country too!

Sally ... that's so exciting to have a follower at Instagram. I am sure the two images on there will grow as I learn the ropes! Studio... I approached as if on an archeological dig... surfacing things and deciding what was of value.. slow... but with more of a focus on clarity than anything else it was more enjoyable that way! Happy Easter to you!

Valerianna ... taking a completely different approach to this move was helpful. I was in shock a few days afterward at not being able to leave home to be at another "home" but other than that I had made the most of the time and felt complete.
Cookies were yum... Blessings to you and do hope you are enjoying you Easter weekend!

Sometimes we need to move home just to be spurred on to clean up and throw out all the excess. (I'm feeling the need to have a major spring clean but just havn't the energy for it). I'm sure you will find the whole paring down process liberating once you are settled again...... but phew! ... so exhausting in the mean time! Hoping you find the perfect home and studio soon, Sophie.

Lacking energy for the clean up I understand Robyn! I've now spent two days of this 4 day Easter break finding everything i can to distract me so that I have now got a tighter deadline than ever... but I feel better for the slow down. Enjoyed visiting my friend's community garden this morning... and having visitors for tea and cake this afternoon.
Tomorrow I am going to put on some music and get busy... very busy! Thanks for your good wishes... much appreciated!

Good luck with all the upheaval! Sometimes making cookies is the best way to ground yourself amidst such commotion. xo

Thanks friend!
So true about those grounding activities. Small way to feel normal when everything has done a 180 degree turn!
