One of those weeks when I found myself needing to put my head down and write, think some more and then type it up. Well... two weeks of that actually. In the end I was looking for cafes with Wifi to change the location of where I could work. Nothing to report on ... all part of creative work... reports, applications etc.
...but ...in those moments when a little diversion was needed I found some inspiration... where to start?

So you start to get the picture. Between my tumblr site seed capsules and new Pinterest one I have been tracing all the artists books i can find... and paintings/painters I like and so on!
This is something you can do for ten minutes between tasks or walking off to make a cup of tea...
tea and toast and a quick look at these sites is just the bees knees. Ok ten minutes can stretch out... but who's counting. And when you are stuck at that computer writing some tricky thing... well... !

ReplyDeleteI recognised that paragraph from I Capture the Castle. I heard about that book on a radio programme and loved it-and that first part is very memorable. I liked the film too though not as much as the book.
I've been off traveling all over cyberspace, landing in Istanbul for fabulous Turkish coffee. What a rich and inspiring post! I love your pintrest and tumlr pages, and Robyn's. Great. I'm holding off from those - two web sites and a blog are enough to work on at the moment! However - a question, can I follow either pintrest and tumblr pages? Do I need an account, or how does that work? Suppose I could explore it myself, but haven't seen that info at least not on pintrest....

but this is just the inspiration i needed. i have a pile of notebooks/sketchbooks that are quite EMPTY. because i find empty ones so pretty and pristine without me messing about in them. now recycled printer paper, napkins or brown paper bags........i would like to change all this.

Wow Sophie. I don't quite know wwhat to look at first. I need to make that cup of tea and sit down for more than 10 minutes I suspect! Some beautiful images here and thanks for the reminder about I Capture the Castle.I used to have the film on an old video - pre DVD days - and it was lovely, the book too. So many people just think she wrote about dalmatians but this book is a true gem. What a fabulous post. You have such eclectic interests and inspirations - a kindred spirit. Thank you!!
